Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction Foundation – First Impressions

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your Summer Vacation. I guess if you live in Australia it’s a different story!

Today I shall be writing away about a product that I have grown to love.

If you don’t know, I have acne prone skin and have been dealing with it ever since I hit puberty. I know that probably most of you out there reading my blog might have gone through that icky acne stage or are still going through it.

I still remain with acne scars and pores that are a little deep. Therefore, my skin ain’t perfect!  I have combination skin and I mostly get oily on my nose and my T zone. I also have sensitive skin and hints of redness especially near my nose. Sometimes I have a good skin day whilst other days I just have horrible ones.

Here is a photo of my skin before having applied anything. It has gotten so much better throughout the years and I have to thank Vichy for that. I had gone to a dermatologist and he suggested to try out Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel. I started using it along with a skin cream called Skinoren and my skin has gotten better ever since.

I started trying out other products from Vichy and built my fresh skin routine. That will be for another post, but I just wanted to tell you that Vichy has helped me a lot with my skin issues.

Today’s post is all about the Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction Foundation. You can also watch my youtube video showing you exactly how the foundation applied –

I would like to thank Vichy Malta for giving me this opportunity to try out this foundation and share it with my  followers!

This foundation is high coverage and one does not need to apply a lot to end up with a great result. Literally, a pea size amount is enough for the entire face.

The texture is thick and besides correcting your skin’s imperfections it also improves the look of oily acne-prone skin.

It promotes that –

  • It provides immediate texture correction
  • Helps conceal spots and breakouts of acne
  • Reduces the appearance of redness
  • Leaves the skin looking clearer
  • Mattifies the skin for a natural finish
  • Has SPF 25
  • Recommended by dermatologists and used by makeup artists
  • Non-comedogenic, paraben free and hypoallergenic

My thoughts on this foundation –

I found that applying it with my fingertips was better than applying with the brush that Vichy Malta gifted me. (Please note that the brush isn’t sold however it is gifted) I also then went over my application with a beauty blender.

The foundation felt so refreshing and cooling on my skin as soon as I applied it. I found that it instantly covered my blemishes, redness and imperfections.

IMG_0107

It felt nice and gentle on my skin, not tacky or cakey! It was completely matte and no shine was left on my skin.

IMG_0109

I did notice that my enlarged pores showed more especially around my nose. Therefore, using a pore primer beforehand would help there.

It lasted throughout the day without the need to powder it again. I loved how it made my skin look and feel.

Besides it being a high coverage foundation, I also want to add and highlight that it includes salicylic acid and eperulin and these help soothe your skin and reduce the appearance of concerns.

I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post! Have you ever tried this product or any other product from VICHY? Comment down below !!

7th Heaven – Dead Sea Mud Mask – Review

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I did a blog post all about 7th Heaven and spoke about the Manuka Honey Peel off mask. You can check it out right here.

Today, I shall be talking about the Dead Sea Mud Mask.

20170730_102712

Unlike the other mask I tried, this was a Mud Mask which meant that it was going to be messier than peel off masks. But, I wasn’t disappointed by the end result that it left me with.

Minerals found in the Dead Sea help clean our impurities and open blocked pores for cleaner and softer skin. So I am all about unblocking those pores and getting rid of them!

20170730_102725

The main ingredients found in this Mud Mask were –

Dead Sea Salt –

A mineral found in the Dead Sea. Dead sea minerals leave our skin feeling relaxed and nourished. I have tried multiple products from Arad which had it’s main ingredients from the Dead Sea. And I loved using their products, they did help my skin become cleaner.

The nutrients from the Dead Sea in this face mask help cleanse our pores, moisturise our skin and draw out any impurities, dirt and grime that we end up with because of today’s modern lifestyle.

Sea Kelp and Seaweed –

These are, “large algae which grow in the seas and oceans around the world, or on rocks below the high-water mark.” Seaweed is, “high in nutrients, is a fantastic detox agent and could even improve the health of your heart. This slimy green plant could be a vital part of your beauty regime.”

The Seaweed and Sea Kelp in the face mask helps with moisturising our skin, “whilst fighting the signs of aging, helping you banish those wrinkles for good.” It can also be seen as a natural exfoliant, and helps with washing away the dead skin cells to leave your skin, “feeling fresh, clean and renewed.”

Lavender –

Lavender is commonly used to treat skin disorders such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis (which I am accustomed to!) and other inflammatory conditions.

Mud masks in general help with your daily cleansing routine in keeping your skin “super clean” and “less prone to blemishes and uneven skin tones.”

My thoughts –

I applied the Mud Mask after having cleansed my face with my Vichy Normaderm Facial Cleansing Gel.

I then applied the mask on a dry face using a flat foundation brush. I left the mask on for approximately 45 minutes. I KNOW I should have only left the mask on for 15 minutes as that it what it states I should do but it felt so cooling on my face I just wanted to leave it on. That and I was watching an episode of Saving Hope that I couldn’t pause it until it was finished!

But I really love how it left my skin looking so clean and so smooth. Throughout the day I felt my skin feeling refreshed and healthier. I do really recommend this mask and I prefer this one over the Honey Peel off that I tried before!

Sephora – Algae Face Mask Review

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all having a LOVELY week!

Yesterday’s vlog (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNi4urCHwAo) included a face mask that I tried out for the first time last weekend.

I got the Algae Face mask from Sephora whilst I was in Rome. I was having a bad skin day and decided to pamper myself a little for the evening.

Each face mask that Sephora provides has a natural lyocell fibre masks, each with skin care benefits.

What it should do –

16930651_10210624203813933_735871149_o

Each mask has a different active ingredient for relaxing the skin and gather a better and brighter complexion.

The Algae Face Mask helps to detoxify the skin and get rid of any impurities that cause dullness and replace them with a fresh and radiant complexion. It does not include any parabens and the products are animal cruelty free.

My thoughts –

After applying the sheet onto my face – something I had never done before – apart from it feeling strange, it actually felt refreshing. I kept it on for around 25 minutes and then took it off.

The first thing I noticed was that it left a shine-y finish; I thought that was because I didn’t need to rinse off the mask. But the shine and oily-ness remained even after hours having applied the mask.

The mask did leave a nice freshened up look on my skin however, I did not like how oily it made my skin. So I guess I wouldn’t choose the algae one again, instead I would choose another type of mask.

Have you ever tried any of the Sephora Face Masks?

Thank you so much for reading!

Arad – Hydro Light Moisturizer for Oily Skin – Review

Hi everyone,

I am writing another post on a skin care product that I have been trying out from the brand Arad.

For those of you who are Maltese you could check out the Arad Dead Sea Malta Facebook Page.

You could check out my previous 2 blog posts on a summary of the brand Arad and a review of 2 products right here –

Arad Dead Sea Malta – Facial Mud Mask – Review

Arad Dead Sea Malta – The Facial Cleansing Milk Review

Today’s product that I shall be reviewing is a Moisturizer. Specifically it is called the Hydro Light Moisturizer for Oily Skin.

Now I have combination skin however, it is mostly oily. I do get a little dry around my nose – that is mostly it. I also have acne prone skin.

download-1

The moisturiser is an extra light textured cream and is specially formulated to regulate the moisture of oily and problematic skin.

download-2

Arad’s Dead Sea Minerals in this product enhanced with other natural ingredients and calming extracts should help to reduce irritation and keeps the correct moisture level.

My thoughts –

images-13

I use this product daily in the morning. I cleanse my face as I do every day and night however, in the morning I would apply this right after. I apply the cream – as it is formulated like a cream – all over my face and neck.

It feels soft and gentle on my skin and as with all products that I have tried so far from Arad, it refreshes my skin.

There is one thing I do not like about this product and that is the smell. It has a weird scent that is not quite my favourite.

I do like the feel of my soft skin right after I apply this.

Even though this is for oily skin, where my skin usually gets dry i.e. my nose – it really hasn’t gotten dry, but still feels moisturised.

Therefore, I like the overall formula of this moisturiser apart from the weird scent.

Have you ever tried out this product? Did you ever try out a product from Arad?

Thank you so much for reading !!

Arad Dead Sea Malta – Facial Mud Mask – Review

Hi everyone,

A week ago, I wrote up my first review on a product by the brand – ARAD. You can go check out a Maltese Facebook Page all about them by visiting Arad Dead Sea Malta. They have a variety of products!

In my previous post I introduced the brand Arad and gave a summary of what the brand offers, what ingredients are used and why are these ingredients beneficial towards our skin.

If you would like you can view this first post right here –

Arad Dead Sea Malta – The Facial Cleansing Milk Review

(I also gave a review of a product that I am still loving – the Facial Cleansing Milk – Makeup Remover )

Today’s post is another face product that I have tried around 3 times to be exact. And that is the Arad Facial Mud Mask.

images-9

The product states that the mud mask absorbs any excess oils and removes any dead cells and saborea that you might have on your skin.

It also unblocks clogged pores to allow all toxins and bacteria to find their way out.

images-10

It should also stimulate the skin cells to drink the natural rich humectants it offers; and contains calming plant extracts such as Chamomile and Aloe Vera and it is lightly scented.

My thoughts –

(Excuse the Jammies but like I said I apply this in the MORNING!)

I apply this mud mask 2 times a week. It states on the tube that for oily skin you can use it 2 to 3 times a week; whilst for normal to combination skin you can use it 2 to 3 times a month. So before using it make sure you don’t over-use the product!

I first cleanse my face and then I dry my face using my face cloth. Then I would simply apply the mud mask all over my face and leave it for 15 minutes. (On the tube it says to leave it for 7-15 minutes but I like leaving it for the whole 15 minutes so whatever the mud mask needs to absorb it does so!)

I then rinse with lukewarm water and I will follow it up with my moisturiser and my normal face routine. I like applying this in the morning and it does help me wake up more refreshed and prepped for the day!

It doesn’t have a harsh smell, which is good but the best thing I find about this mud mask is that it isn’t messy at all! I sometimes find that with some face masks when rinsing them off, I won’t rinse them properly and I end up with a dirty and muddy face cloth to wash! However, with this one it is not the case.

I find my skin to be so soft after and I notice that my pores (I don’t know if this is a good thing) but they do show more. But I guess that means the face mask is doing its job by cleaning those little buggers out.

I do find my skin to be cleaner by using these products and shall be trying out a new product this week. Therefore, stay tuned for more reviews on Arad products soon!

Have you ever tried any of these Arad products? If not, are you intrigued to do so?

Thank you so much for reading!
