Dubliners – Date Night

Hi everyone,

Hope you all are having a lovely day !! August is almost over and September is 2 days away!! I cannot believe it !!

So last Saturday, I went to a restaurant/pub called ‘Dubliners’.

Downstairs is the pub and upstairs is the restaurant. The place is really relaxed and has a lovely view of the St.Julians bay.

The theme is rustic and the food is delicious and really well priced! The owner is lovely too!

Unfortunately, when I went to take photos of my outfit my mobile decided to go silent on me! So I only took photos inside the restaurant and of the food and of course an occasional selfie!

I was wearing a crop top from H&M, a long maroon maxi skirt from Dorothy Perkins and a pair of sandals from H&M. I also wearing a pair of statement earrings from Ebay. (They kind of show in this selfie)

Like I said, the food was amazing. Even though they did not offer a wide range of gluten free foods I was still pleased with what we got.

We ordered these potatoe bites as a starter. These were boiling hot and were served with a chilli sauce! Even though we might have burnt our tongues, our stomachs were beyond pleased with it!

Then Luke took a burger which looked amazing! And I took a Moroccan Chicken served with some salad and mashed potatoe. Now I thought that it would taste a little spicy but I didn’t feel it. However, Luke took a piece and was like, ‘I do taste it a little on the spicy end.’ So probably the starter just killed all of my sensitive taste buds and I did not taste it spicy. Oh well!

We did not have any dessert as we were so full!! It was YUMMY!!

Then when we left I was about to take my outfit of the day and the camera didn’t want to. So then we met our friends and had some fun at the feast that is celebrated annually in St.Julians.

See in Malta, every city has a patron saint, and some cities go as far as making a week of celebration out of it. Literally, the roads would be closed so no cars can come through. People will bring out their stands of hot dogs, and candy floss or these DELICIOUS fresh doughnuts. There would be a lot of drinking involved!

Basically the entire community comes all as one, and people from outside the city can obviously join. My boyfriend and I are from Swieqi which does not host its own feast week so St.Julians is the closest we come to celebrating anything! Besides all the fun, there are other activities which take place.

Like the city’s band playing out in the road whilst taking out the statue of their patron saint. It’s a Maltese tradition which also includes lovely fireworks !

Anyways, until next time

Love Kezia
