26/05/2019 – MFWA 2019

Today’s shows consisted of new designers, which I was so excited to see then there was Sanja Design from Slovenia and Nilara. Here were my thoughts on today’s shows!

New Designers

There were so many great pieces from NEW LOCAL DESIGNERS who are MCAST students! They gave quite a show and my eyes were hooked on some of the pieces they created! Here are some bits from new local talent!

Danial Gitmanovich

Unfortunately I was too slow at capturing some of Danial’s pieces but they were stunning especially this first number!

Anthea Calleja

This is something I would definitely wear!! Love the colour and the button detail.

Andre Xiberras

His pieces were so colourful and I just loved their design!
Isn’t this just too cute?

Alicia Busuttil

I loved her designs, and the use of the pink shade with the blue!
This was just stunning, a piece which I will remember!

Dhalia Grech

Her pieces were so bold and stunning!
I mean this gives me vampire moods!! Love it!

Natasha Polidano

I love this so much!! The colour of the trousers and the design of the top !! GORGEOUS!
I just love pink and this just screams cuteness!

Christine Ann

This is so stunning, love the shoulder pads !
I love this, sending me some goddess vibes!

Danyl – Eversince

His show was amazing – the video before the models started walking down the catwalk, the music to the pieces!!! I loved this – so urban!!
This was my favourite piece out of all these !! I just love the style!

Nikolai Mifsud

Such a pretty green dress!
I loved this more than the one above!

And those were the new local designers! I truly was amazed and impressed by all the different designers, and cannot wait to see more from them in the future!

Sanja Design – Slovenia

Sanja’s designs are surrounded by the theme of dreams, day dreaming, dream clothes and a dream world. Her name, in fact means a Dream, and has moved her towards expressing herself through dreams, with her Sanja V Design clothes.

I quote a paragraph from Malta Fashion Week’s website which showcases Sanja the designer as stating, “Each of you, dear ladies, wishes to be beautiful for herself  and to be noticed by her family, friends or other people when simply walking down the streets. Once you put on your Dreams, you start living them – find it out for yourself.”

She also adds, “I believe that in YOUR dreams you wish to be UNIQUE, daring, timeless, enjoying  the positive glow, comfort  and functionality throughout  your daily activities as well as in your evening dress or on some other special occasion – you have found a little place in your dreams, in which I will make sure you will start living them.”

My thoughts on the show …

I love how she has portrayed dreams in her life and her creations! Her pieces were unique, and gave me a sense of the clothes as representing a story. A story that can represent a dream, even by how the designs had faces on them. It just reminded me of the unconsciousness we experience in our dreams, and how it comes to life! Loved the show! Here are some pieces which I liked!

As you can see the bag she has with her outfit, has a face on it !! So interesting! And also, the shoes are also made from the brand – Sanja Design.
I loved this piece, it looks so comfortable to wear too!
As you can see, even this depicts faces!
I loved their makeup !! So tribal and gorgeous!

Nilay Camilleri with her Nilara Label, has been in Maltese Fashion for a while now, she has presented her collections on the Malta Fashion Week Catwalk for four years. Her designs are unique balanced with elaborate fabrics that equal to her brand. “You can never be overeducated or overdressed, thus dare to be fabulous.”

My thoughts on her collection …

The collection was entitled, ‘Garden of Eden’ and it was just AMAZING!!!! I loved the music, I loved the hair, the makeup and most of all I loved the different pieces Nilay created!! She has such an amazing talent, she brings all her ideas together and just creates beautiful pieces! Here are some that caught my eye –

Look at her pieces, they are just stunning!
This outfit opened the show, and everything about this is just stunning!
I love this two piece!
Oh but I loved this one even more, and it is something I would love to have in my closet!
I love the skirt in this outfit!
The design is just stunning!
Look at this pattern and the colours!!
