Hi everyone,
This week I uploaded a video all about Primark Makeup. Back in April I picked up some products in the hopes of making a video and a blog post like this … so here goes!
You can watch the video right here of me applying Primark makeup and you can see all my first reactions of the products too.
Now I shall be writing a little about each of these products, after having tried them on other occasions and saw how long they lasted.
Products I bought –
Primark Liquid Foundation – Shade – Cool Sand – £2.50
I did not like the smell of this foundation, it reminded me of sunscreen. It is a very water based formula and applies well with a foundation brush. If your skin is not prepped well then this foundation will bring out your pores so much and create cake face.
It states that it is a medium coverage foundation. I find that to not be true, I believe it is more of a light coverage. It is an oil free formula and it dries to a semi matte finish. After having applied this product more than once, I have noticed that when it dries to the point it can, it still leaves my face feeling sticky. Nothing some powder cannot fix, but still that’s a point I wanted to share.
Was it worth the £2.50 overall? Meh, but I prefer this than the stick foundation.
Primark Foundation Stick – Shade – Sand – £2
I got this in the WRONG shade. But funnily enough it blended nicely on the skin and it didn’t look that dark on me, as you can see in the video. It’s texture is quite thick, so you need to blend it well or else it will look so cakey on the skin.
Primark Stick Concealer – Shade – Ivory – £0.90
For only 90p I LOVED this concealer. I think it blended nicely, even though my under eye lines were still a little visible. But it settled nicely and lasted long too. I mean for only 90p I would say it’s a good enough result.
Primark Mattifying Pressed Powder – Shade – Sand – £2
At first I thought that this powder wasn’t going to blend well into the skin but after using my brush and brushing it into my skin, it blended well. I liked the after effect that this powder gave on my skin and after using this product it did not leave my skin feeling sticky.
I think it’s a good enough powder for only £2!
Primark Bronze Glow Bronzing Powder – Sundipped – £2
I love this bronzer, I have used it multiple times since I filmed this video. It is a lovely chalky brown, very natural and settles so nicely onto the skin.
I have enjoyed using this to create a sunkissed look.
Primark Strobe and Glow Cream Highlighting Palette – £4
So the formula of this product is quite water-y and sticky … maybe Kylie Jenner stole the idea from Primark when she created her Wet Set of highlighters? I don’t know as I don’t have that Wet Set but this highlighting palette reminded me of that.
Besides the formula, I liked how the highlights stayed on my skin. They aren’t that pigmented so you would need to go back and forth to create the highlight that you crave. But I like the effect of these highlights. Do I think it was worth £4 from Primark? No.
Primark PRO Tight Lining Pen – £3
This was a FAIL and it was £3! I tried tight lining with it and nothing comes out. It’s so strange as when I swatch the pencil on my hand, the product comes out and there’s a lovely black line but then when I come to using it on my eyes … NOTHING.
I tried creating a cat eye look, shaking it, pressing when I applied it but still not enough product was coming out. Therefore, this is such a FAIL!!
Primark Volumising Mascara – £1
I love this mascara. It doesn’t add volume to my lashes but it does lengthen them and separates them really well. And it lasts long and the product does not transfer on my lids! For only a POUND this product is GREAT!
Primark Lip Liner Pencil – £1 in Desert Sand
I love the shade this lip liner comes in. It’s a cute peachy pink. It applies really well and lasts long on the lips. It isn’t that patchy and it isn’t drying as well. Again, for a pound I think this product passed my test.
Primark Long Lasting Lipstick – £2.50
I don’t know what the name of this shade of the lipstick I got is but I like the colour. It is a purple pink dark shade. It isn’t patchy and the colour applies well. The shape of the bullet lipstick made it easier to apply on my lips.
It didn’t last long as I had to retouch it throughout the day but I don’t hate it. Would I buy it again? I don’t think so as you can find other options from the drugstore.
Those were the products I tried and here is the finished makeup look that I created during the video –
Overall, Primark makeup are packaged so nicely, and some items are hits whilst others are total fails. I quite enjoyed testing these out and I guess we all wanna save a little.
In my opinion you should try and get yourselves to Primark, if you live in the UK or anywhere else that has Primark; and try out their range of makeup. You might be surprised what you can find at such a little price!
Have you ever tried any makeup from Primark? What are your thoughts? Comment down below!!
Thank you so much for reading!
